The Saturday routine
In class and ready
Please arrive by 9:55 at the latest.
Lessons begin
Qur’an, Islamic Studies and Ilm2Amal, with breaks in between.
Lunch
Children eat the packed lunch they bring from home.
Salah
We pray together.
Home time
Lessons finish for the day.
Arriving late
If your child arrives after 10:15am, please wait with them until the first break before they join their class, so lessons aren’t interrupted.
Before school
No staff are on duty in the playground before school. Please don’t leave children there on their own, and ask them not to play on the equipment.
Dropping off
You may like to walk your child to class at first. For older children, we’d expect this only while they settle in.
What to bring
Water bottle
A named, spill-proof sports bottle your child can open. Water or still flavoured water only. No glass bottles. Take home weekly to wash.
Food
Healthy food in a sealed, named container. If forgotten, the school canteen can provide food at an extra charge.
Books
Your child’s class books for each subject.
Talking to us
The school office
Call 07778 799 699 or email info@albayyinah.co.uk. Teachers can’t take calls during lessons, so leave a message with the office and we’ll pass it on.
Your child’s teacher
Mornings are busy while teachers welcome children. For something simple, like a change to who’s collecting, give the teacher a note. For a longer chat, see them at the end of the day.
The head teacher
The head teacher is usually available first thing in the morning. You can also book an appointment through the office or by emailing admin@albayyinah.co.uk.
Concerns and complaints
If anything worries you, please tell us. We can only put things right when we know about them. Speak to your child’s class teacher first. The head teacher is always willing to meet you if you’d like to take it further.
Questions parents ask
My child is only 4. Will it be too much?
Early years (ages 4 to 6) is designed especially for young children. Lessons are short and varied, using stories, arts and crafts and circle time, with breaks in between. The aim is to plant the seed of Imaan and make learning about Islam a joy.
To help your child settle in, we meet every family before a child starts, and you’re welcome to walk your child to class at first.
How many children are in a class?
No more than 20, and teaching assistants support our classes too.
Are the teachers qualified?
Yes. Our teachers are qualified in the subjects they teach, have undergone enhanced DBS checks and receive ongoing training. Many bring years of experience.
Do we need to buy books?
No. All books and materials are included in the fees.
When is the school open?
Every Saturday in term time, from 10am to 1:15pm. See this year’s term dates.
